Portage Central boys soccer has grown accustomed to the district stage over the last few years.
And that continued on Saturday.
The top-ranked Mustangs spread the wealth and flexed their playoff pedigree in a 3-0 district championship victory over Mattawan, the program’s fourth straight district title.
Portage Central (20-0-2) advances to a Division 1 regional semifinal on Tuesday against Midland Dow (14-6-0) at 7 p.m. from Hudsonville High School.
Central saw Jayce Handley, Carter Seim and Ryan Delp find the back of the net for goals, with assists from Oliver Ruggiero, Nick Tarpley and Max Bailey.
All-state senior goalkeeper Gunnar Thorhallsson recorded his 17th shutout in net for the Mustangs.
