First Reported Back in June
According to New York State Police, troopers first received reports back on June 12, 2025, about several neglected animals on a property along State Route 40 in Whitehall.
During that initial search, according to the NYSP, three animals, two dogs and a cat, were found in poor condition and were removed from the home.
28 More Animals Seized
Then, on September 27, 2025, the report states that troopers returned to the property, where they seized an additional 28 animals, which included eight dogs, nineteen cats, and even a Canadian goose that appeared to be living in poor physical and environmental conditions.
