WILKES-BARRE — Selection of a Luzerne County jury began Monday in the Hazleton homicide trial of Frangel Garcia Andujar, who is charged in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Stanley Jimson and injuring four others in 2022.
Andujar, 23, opted not to accept a plea offer that was presented to him Thursday resulting in a jury trial on an open count of criminal homicide, criminal attempt to commit criminal homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
The plea offer called for a sentence of 13 to 26 years in prison. If convicted of first-degree murder, Andujar could be sentenced to life in prison.
