SAN ANTONIO — A woman was killed by an alleged intoxicated driver going the wrong way down I-35 Sunday night, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Carlos Guerra, 42, was charged with intoxicated manslaughter and intoxication assault following a fatal accident around 11:45 p.m. at I-35 and St. Mary's Street.

Police said Guerra was driving a blue 2021 Chevy Silverado traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-35 going the wrong way. A Bexar County deputy noticed the wrong way driver and paralleled him, attempting to stop him with his emergency lights from the correct side of the highway but Guerra failed to stop.
