Star Sri Lanka allrounder Kavisha Dilhari was struck by cruel misfortune in one of the most shocking dismissals one would ever see, even as Bangladesh couldn’t realise the wicket before the umpires stepped in.

The drama unfolded on the very first delivery of the 20th over. Star left-arm spinner Nahida Akter bowled a slider just outside off and Dilhari went for a late cut. Instead, the batter chopped the ball to the right of the keeper and it ricocheted onto the stumps.

Broadcasters’ replays showed the wicket and the Bangladesh cricketers realised it, returning to their positions without any appeal, not even from the wicketkeeper Nigar Sultana Joty.
