SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Avera Health will no longer offer Aetna Medicare Advantage as an in-network provider at the end of the year.
A news release from Avera said Avera Health told patients that use Aetna Medicare about the change. Patients can select a new plan during the fall Medicare open enrollment period of Oct. 15 – Dec. 7.
Avera cited denials and reduced reimbursement of necessary services and care as part of their decision to end in-network service. Avera did not say how many people currently use Aetna Medicare Advantage for health insurance.
"Patients who choose to keep their Aetna Medicare Advantage plan for 2026 can still receive care from Avera providers, however, services would likely be out of network, and that may mean a higher cost share for patients," Avera said in
