LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A state audit showed that Nebraska Lottery sales are down over $36 million.

State Auditor Mike Foley released a report on his office’s annual audit of the Nebraska State Lottery on Monday, and according to the audit, lottery ticket sales were found to have declined by over $36 million in the most recent fiscal year, a 16.3% drop in sales.

According to Foley, one of the potential reasons for the sales drop could have been the increased availability of casino gambling and the growth of other gaming options.
