PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A stretch of stormy fall weather is on the way for the Pacific Northwest this weekend.
A storm system, brewing over the Gulf of Alaska, will bring the chance for strong winds and heavy rainfall on Friday that'll linger throughout the weekend. The low will be associated with a moderate to strong atmospheric river, giving a boost to rain amounts seen across the region.
Rain amounts are quiet impressive in this storm system. Forecast models showcase more than 3.0 inches of rain for locations along the Oregon coastline.
The Portland metro area could collect close to 1.5 inches from Friday through Monday. Small stream and minor urban flooding is possible if these forecast rain amounts comes to fruition.
