The Met Office has warned of "below average temperatures" for much of the UK as an arctic blast is set to hit the country towards the end of the week.
Forecasters have warned that temperatures will be "turning cooler" into the weekend with temperatures in the "low double figures".
Met Office weather maps suggest much of the UK will experience temperatures in the single figures on Saturday, with highs of around 12C in the south east of the country around midday.
In a blog post on Monday (20 October), the Met Office said: "As the area of low pressure moves away to the East the strong winds will become more focused to the east coast of England and Scotland on Friday. This progress eastwards will also allow cooler, arctic maritime air to spill southwards across the UK.
