After delays from a government shutdown, a federal judge finalized her decision and sided with Harvard University in its lawsuit about nearly $3 billion in cuts in federal funding, according to a Monday filing.

As a result, the Trump administration can now appeal Judge Allison D. Burroughs’ decision, which the federal government has said it would do.

While Burroughs ordered the Trump administration to reinstate the university’s nearly $3 billion in federal funding cuts last month, the case was still awaiting a final judgment. Harvard and the federal government had to agree on how to implement the decision.
