B.C.’s integrated anti-gang unit says a 24-year-old man has been charged with murder in a shooting early last year.
Shortly after 4 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2024, Coquitlam RCMP were called to a shooting in the area of Westwood Street and Glen Drive. A 24-year-old Coquitlam man was found with life-threatening injuries and died in hospital.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team took over, and it was determined that the murder was targeted and connected to organized crime.
“This was a brazen shooting near a busy intersection in Coquitlam at a time when there had been an uptick in shootings in the city,” said IHIT Sgt. Freda Fong in a statement released Monday.
