The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued an alert as older people risk losing out on cash.

DWP is set to hand out millions of payments over the coming months, with many pensioners to receive up to £300 each, reports MirrorOnline.

People who were born on or before September 21, 1959, and who were residing in England or Wales for the qualifying week (September 15-21, 2025) will receive the money.

However the DWP is warning people not to react to text messages, as they could be conned out of cash.
