Srinagar: As the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference (NC) government completes its first year in office, residents of the Hazratbal constituency find themselves caught between hope and disappointment. The NC’s decisive victory in the 2024 Assembly elections had raised expectations for visible progress, but a year later, many locals say their daily struggles remain unchanged.

Omar Abdullah took charge as Chief Minister on October 16, 2024, promising a new era of growth and prosperity. Hazratbal, a key Srinagar constituency, saw strong support for the NC, with Salman Ali Sagar winning by a margin of over 10,000 votes.
