Kasargod, Oct 20: In a heart-wrenching overseas tragedy, a 39-year-old man from Thuminadu, near Manjeshwar, lost his life in Doha, Qatar, after being struck by an ambulance while repairing a punctured tyre on his taxi.

The deceased has been identified as Haris, son of Aboobacker (popularly known as Abbuchcha), a resident of Hill Top Nagar, Thuminadu.

Haris had been working in Doha as a taxi driver for several years and had recently returned to Qatar after a short visit to his hometown in Kerala.

The fatal incident occurred on Sunday, when his taxi suffered a puncture. While attempting to fix it on the roadside with the help of a Bangladeshi national, an ambulance is reported to have rammed into them.
