A long-awaited addition to Kenai’s landscape is about to make its debut. The Kenai Bronze Bear Family Sculpture — a major new public artwork celebrating the region’s wildlife, heritage, and community spirit — will be unveiled Thursday, November 6, during two public events hosted by the Kenai Bronze Bear Working Group.

The first event, an unveiling ceremony, will take place at 2 p.m. at the Kenai Municipal Airport (305 North Willow Street), where the bronze bear family will be revealed to the public for the first time. The life-size sculptures are expected to become a signature landmark welcoming travelers and residents alike.

Later that day, the community is invited to a “Meet the Artist” reception at 5 p.m. at the Kenai Senior Center (361 Senior Court). Attendees will have the chance to
