Two days after he was shredded by Sportsnet’s Kevin Bieksa , Yegor Sharangovich was out of the Calgary Flames lineup.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the Belarussian.

Making the winger a healthy scratch doesn’t equate to Huska agreeing with Bieksa that Sharangovich was “disgracing the NHL” with his effort, of course, but benching a guy who plays on your power play and is making US$5.75-million annually certainly sends a message.

The Flames are a team that struggles to score and Sharangovich has one of the best shots on the team, after all.

Especially when he was the only guy removed from the lineup from Saturday’s loss for Monday’s matchup with the Winnipeg Jets.
