3BRONX, NY – Police have identified the man fatally shot on an August morning in the Bronx as 32-year-old Clay Monsanto of Clay Avenue.
Monsanto was standing in front of 1853 Anthony Avenue when an unknown man opened fire around 8:10 a.m., striking him in the back.
He was transported by EMS to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives from the 46th Precinct have released surveillance images of a man wanted in connection with the killing. The suspect is believed to have fled toward nearby residential blocks immediately after the shooting.
