Day parole has been extended for one of the two men involved in the 1993 slaying of Sudbury police officer Joe MacDonald .
Peter Pennett, now 60, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the murder, along with Clinton Suzack. The latter died last year of natural causes , while residing in a halfway house.

MacDonald was killed in an exchange of gunfire after he stopped a vehicle containing the two men on Gordon Street in New Sudbury. The popular constable and football coach suffered seven gunshot wounds, three of them to the back of his head.
Both of the accused denied shooting MacDonald, but each was found guilty of first-degree murder.
