Things are about to get more difficult for a New Orleans Saints offense that has already struggled to string together consistent efforts this season.
The Saints got the worst kind of double-barrel injury barrage Monday following a loss to the Chicago Bears that dropped them to 1-6: Both Pro Bowl center Erik McCoy , who tore his bicep, and No. 2 running back Kendre Miller, who tore his ACL, would miss the remainder of the season.
“Obviously it’s really unfortunate, because both those guys we felt like had been playing some really good football,” coach Kellen Moore said.
The injuries are a devastating blow to an offense that finished Sunday’s loss ranked No. 29 in scoring and 24th in yards per game.
