IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WROC) — Willow Domestic Violence Center is breaking ground on a new Family Justice Center at Skyview on the Ridge. The 16,000 sq. ft. facility is aimed at bringing a variety of resources to survivors in one place.
"So many people who may not seek out that help no longer feel that stigma for seeking the help that they and their families need," said Sen. Samra Brouk.
The project was made possible by more than $4 million in federal and state funding. The Family Justice Center launched as a pilot program in 2023 to bring legal aid, law enforcement, counseling, and social service partners together to ensure victims and survivors of domestic violence can get the help they need at once.
"Together, we’ll make it possible for survivors to access safety planning, justice, heali
