A crowd of thousands assembled at the State House in Columbia Saturday to protest the policies of President Donald Trump and his administration.
The event was one of more than 2,500 "No Kings" protests taking place across all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and elsewhere.
The events were organized by a coalition including the ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, 50501, Human Rights Campaign, Indivisible, League of Conservation Voters, MoveOn, National Nurses United, Public Citizen, SEIU, and more.
At the Columbia event, the majority of the crowd gathered on the north lawn of the State House to hear from speakers and musicians. Others lined Gervais Street, holding up signs protesting ICE policies, troop deployment in U.S. cities and other administration actions
