NEW ORLEANS — A massive Amazon Web Services outage is causing widespread service disruptions worldwide.
In the New Orleans area, ASAP Ankle Monitoring confirmed it's experiencing issues with its cloud-based case management system.
However, the company's CEO, Matt Dennis, says the outage has not affected the tracking of offenders.
He says each monitoring device is tracked using the manufacturer's independent servers, which are not cloud-based.
Late Monday afternoon, ASAP told WWL Louisiana that their AWS cloud services were back in service.
