ATLANTA — The New Georgia Project, a Stacey Abrams founded voter mobilization group that rose to be a powerhouse political organizing force in the Peach State and helped fuel Democrats' electoral advances, is reportedly shutting down and ceasing operations .
The Associated Press confirmed with the organization Thursday that it's shuttering.
“We recognize that the work of building a just and truthful world remains urgent,” directors said in a statement released by the Rev. James Woodall, who chaired the board of the New Georgia Project Action Fund. “This moment calls for strong and courageous leaders to step forward, guided by principles and purpose.”
