WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Watertown police say a man who was injured in a Friday night assault has been released from a Syracuse hospital.

Over the weekend, police said a 43-year-old man was assaulted with an edged weapon Friday night at 11 Public Square, which is the listed address for Woolworth Apartments.

The man was taken to a Syracuse hospital, where he was listed in stable condition over the weekend.

On Monday, police said the man, whose name was withheld, has since been released.

They declined to comment any further about the case.

According to records, police responded to a fifth-floor apartment at 11 Public Square at 10:16 p.m. Friday. Ten minutes later, they were at the 200 block of North Hamilton Street for something “suspicious out back.”
