A 48-year-old New Jersey man was arrested after an hours-long armed standoff, during which he fired multiple shots at officers and their vehicles over the weekend, authorities announced Monday, Oct. 20.
Police were called to a home on the 200 block of Bridal Path in Mountainside Saturday afternoon, Oct. 18, for a domestic dispute involving Tom Ronckovitz, who had a handgun, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel and Mountainside Police Chief Joseph Giannuzzi said.
When officers arrived, Ronckovitz refused to exit the home, prompting officers to secure the area and call in specialized units, authorities said.
