ENDICOTT, N.Y. (WETM) — After 15 years, The Book Vault in Endicott is preparing to close its doors for good. The locally owned bookstore is selling off its entire inventory, which includes more than 30,000 books, during a massive clearance sale.

Here's how the sale works: customers can bring in a bag of their own and fill them up with books. Once full, they can check out the bag for only $2.

Owner Richard and Christine Masters, originally from Long Island, moved to Endicott over 20 years ago with the dream of opening a book store. Since opening in 2010, Masters explained that business has not been easy.

"I love what I do, but I can't afford to keep the business up," explained Masters. According to research from the U.S. Census Bureau, bookstore sales have been on a steady decline since
