NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The holidays are almost here, which means soon people will start decorating for the season.
But one Metro Councilman said not everyone has been in the holiday spirit, and it's brought controversy among neighbors.
Councilman Jordan Huffman, who represents Hermitage, said there were multiple cases where neighbors complained about someone's holiday decorations last year. The complaints resulted in the decorators being given a notice or citation.
Huffman told News 2 government should never interfere with how someone wants to celebrate their end-of-year holiday, so he introduced the CHEER Act—short for the Community Holiday Expression Exemption and Rights Act.
