EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - The Nacogdoches Dragons, off to their best start in over a decade, travel to Marshall to face the Mavericks in our Red Zone Game of the Week.

Marshall and Nacogdoches have met 14 times since 2004, with Marshall winning 12 of those matchups. The Mavericks have won the last four meetings, outscoring the Dragons 189-62. Marshall won last year’s matchup in Nacogdoches 42-0.

Nacogdoches’ 6-1 start matches their best start since 2013. Head Coach Darby House and the Dragons have gone 3-7 in each of his first two seasons at the helm. Nacogdoches has wins over Jacksonville (40-14), Hallsville (21-20) and Whitehouse (34-24) for a 3-0 district record. House says the team underperformed last year and the start to this season has been exciting.
