LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A Huntington man has pleaded guilty to the 2022 murder of his wife.

Christopher Brian Marriott, 54, pleaded in Judge Robert Inselmann’s court on Monday. He accepted a life sentence for the death of Sandra Marriott.

Before his arrest, Marriott tried to claim his wife had committed suicide. The murder occurred in the Hanks Creek area.

The district attorney’s office released a statement following the hearing.

“As we observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month, this case reminds us that domestic violence is not a private matter—it is a public crime. If you see something, say something. Report abuse. Help save a life."
