Three hours before first pitch in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series, Bo Bichette was on the Rogers Centre turf doing some light fielding work and some fairly aggressive work in the batting cage, no doubt thinking of bigger things ahead.

And with the prospect of a World Series berth with a win over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night, the chances of the Blue Jays shortstop returning this season were seemingly improved.

In fact, Jays manager John Schneider said that Bichette, who has been out since Sept. 6 after suffering a knee injury at Yankee Stadium, is making “significant progress” towards a potential return. But will it be enough?

“Progress is where he feels with his swing and how much more comfortable he feels kind of letting it rip,” Schneider said, acknowledging
