TO MARK Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary next week, the government has commissioned a play on his life story, which will be staged in Gujarat’s Kevadia on October 30-31. The 90-minute play, being produced by the National School of Drama (NSD), will be taken to other cities across the country, including New Delhi and Ahmedabad, said sources.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the inaugural show, besides Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other leaders from the Centre and Gujarat, Sardar Patel’s home state. The play is part of the two-year-long 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Patel, which will conclude on October 31, 2026.
