CHICO — Bob Mulholland, the longtime Democratic campaign strategist and Vietnam War veteran, has died.
Mike Hawkins, who worked for over 40 years with Mulholland, said Mulholland’s wife Jane Dolan informed him of Mulholland’s passing Monday morning. Hawkins said he did not know the cause of Mulholland’s death, but that it was “rather unexpected.”
“He was a big hearted human being,” Hawkins said. “He was a wonderful person. No one worked as hard as Bob did.”
Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mulholland served in the U.S. Army before moving to California in 1968. In 1972, he moved to Chico where he became active in the community and political scene, especially by supporting his wife Dolan as she served on the Butte County Board of Supervisors.
