More than a half-dozen pedestrians were injured Monday — with one in critical condition — after a box truck driver careened into a parked vehicle and wound up on the sidewalk in midtown Manhattan, police sources said.
The box truck was traveling north on 8th Ave. when it struck a parked white van, jumped the curb and slammed into as many as eight pedestrians around 4 p.m. near 8th Ave. and West 30th St. in Chelsea, the sources said. The collision was two blocks way from Madison Square Garden .
EMS transported the injured pedestrians to Bellevue Hospita l , where one was in critical condition, the sources said. No one else involved in the crash suffered life-threatening injuries, the sources said.
The box truck driver stayed on scene, cops said. Originally Published: October 20,
