SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Construction crews began making improvements to water infrastructure Monday on Bernie Avenue between Huntington Street and Arch Street in Springfield.

As a result of this construction, there are partial road and sidewalk closures planned throughout the process.

The right lane and sidewalk along Bernie Avenue, from Huntington Street to Arch Street will be closed to thru traffic.

Sidewalk access and crossings within the school zone around arch street will remain open.

There will be no impacts to residential water service during the construction.
