Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the ceasefire with Afghanistan will only last if the Taliban fulfils its promise to stop cross-border attacks by terrorists. His statement came a day after Pakistan and Afghanistan reached a ceasefire deal during talks in Doha, which were facilitated by Qatar and Turkiye.
Speaking to Pakistani news outlet Dawn , Asif said that the truce depends entirely on Afghanistan’s actions. "Anything coming from Afghanistan will be (a) violation of this agreement," he said. "Everything hinges on this one clause."
