LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A woman who fled a fatal crash received her sentence Monday.

Nikki Serrat was sentenced to 24 to 60 years in prison for multiple charges stemming from a fatal crash that killed two children.

Serrat was charged after crashing into a family’s SUV in November near Flamingo and Pecos. Two children died in the crash — 11-year-old Dante Lewis and 6-year-old Taliyah Lewis. Two other children and their mother were injured.

An arrest report said Serrat was on probation and trying to avoid a traffic stop at the time of the crash. She ran away from the crash on foot but was later found.

In addition to prison time, Serrat was ordered to pay nearly $275,000 in restitution.
