SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)- The Philadelphia Center was established thirty six years ago because someone or some group had to step up to help people living with HIV. The next step was to prevent the spread of HIV.

They now offer support services for people living with HIV, as well as STI testing and provide PrEP to those who want it. Their mission is to empower people living with HIV, eliminate new HIV transmissions and enhance community wellness.

Most of their funding comes from the federal government and according to Hersey Krippendorf their director of development those funds are not secure. When asked if she was scare, she said, "Yes, everyday. We're a phone call away or an email away from losing funding." She went on to say if that happened some tough decisions would need to be mad
