A magistrate has rejected an application by an accused rapist to prevent media reporting about his alleged links with accused paedophile childcare worker Joshua Dale Brown.

Mr Brown's arrest sent shock waves through Victoria's childcare industry after it was revealed he had been charged with more than 70 offences, including sexually penetrating children .

Michael Simon Wilson, of Hoppers Crossing, is also facing dozens of child sex charges, including an alleged assault on a teenage boy, and has been accused of bestiality .

The lifting of an interim suppression order on Tuesday means the ABC can report police have also charged Mr Wilson with four counts of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, false imprisonment
