BOWLING GREEN, KY.-With autumn in full swing, keeping fall pests out of your home is becoming a top priority for many homeowners.

Stink bugs, beetles, and even wasps are commonly seen this time of year and can easily find their way indoors.

Once inside, many of these insects stay dormant through the winter and reappear in the spring. Experts say piles of leaves around your home can act as insulation, helping bugs survive colder temperatures.

Sealing cracks, gaps, and other entry points is one of the most effective ways to keep pests from getting in.

“The big issue is right now, your house can be covered with them,” said local expert Jimmie Blankenship. “They’ll spend the winter inside, and show up again when it warms up.”
