EUGENE, Ore. – The Bethel School District and Eugene Education Association (EEA) are entering the mediation process after contract negotiations have not resulted in a new collective bargaining agreement.
“Mediation does not mean that we're not still negotiating, it just changes the structure of it,” Eugene Education Association President Jamie Myers said. “And it's EEA's hope that this contract will be settled as quickly as possible through the mediation process.”
Since March 11, there have been 10 sessions between both parties and at the last session the school district said both sides agreed to enter the mediation process.
