ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Throughout much of Monday, people from across the world reported issues accessing a plethora of different websites and mobile apps. Many of these issues stem from the same cloud system outage within Amazon Web Services (AWS), which these companies depend on to remain functional.

One company which utilizes AWS and was impacted is Venmo, which Hairstylist and Business Owner Valerie Lewis of "Beauty by Val" depends on for her day-to-day operations. She said her Venmo App displayed an error message during most of the business day.

"When Venmo isn't working, I get nervous because a lot of people use it to pay me," Lewis said. "And then I tried ordering supplies this afternoon from Amazon and nothing was working on their website either. It was really frustrating to say
