MADISON, (WKOW) — Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) hosted a parade at the Wisconsin Capitol Square Monday to celebrate National Lights On Afterschool.

The parade highlights the importance of quality afterschool programs. MSCR serves more than 4,120 youth in afterschool programs across 34 locations, providing crucial childcare and learning opportunities.

Mary Roth, the executive director of MSCR, emphasized the value of these programs. “We provide a wide range of programs, including childcare, enrichment clubs and sports leagues,” Roth said.
