EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Another governmental body in East Lansing is calling for the chief of police to resign.

It comes after police Chief Jennifer Brown made comments regarding an MSU welcome week incident. The comments were called racist by residents and oversight groups.

The East Lansing Police Oversight Committee and the NAACP have also called on her to resign.

On Monday, the East Lansing Human Rights Commission approved two letters on the controversy.

One will go to the city manager, discussing the use of force during welcome week. The other will go to the City Council supporting Brown’s resignation.
