LOS ANGELES — Food Network announced Monday that "The Kitchen," its long-running weekend cooking talk show, will end its nearly 12-year run in December after 40 seasons and more than 500 episodes.

The final episode will air Saturday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. ET, the network said.

The Emmy-nominated series, which premiered in January 2014, has been hosted by Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro and Geoffrey Zakarian, with Alex Guarnaschelli as a recurring guest host. The show featured recipe demonstrations, cooking tips and celebrity guest appearances each Saturday morning.
