Cincinnati Police Chief Terri Theetge has been placed on paid administrative leave effective immediately, pending an internal investigation into her leadership effectiveness, according to a statement from City Manager Sheryl Long.

Long said, "The city continues to face serious public safety challenges that underscore the need for stability at the command level. Therefore, I've named Assistant Chief Adam Hennie as Interim Police Chief." Advertisement

Assistant Chief Adam Hennie, a 26-year veteran of the Cincinnati Police Department, has been named interim police chief.

Hennie, who was promoted to assistant chief on October 10, has served in key roles, including captain over the Central Business District, and has been outspoken about curbing crime downtown.
