LEAWOOD, Kan. —

Teamwork between police departments helped officers quickly arrest two suspects accused of stealing a gun from a vehicle in Leawood.

Leawood police said the theft happened Sunday at the Country Club of Leawood on Overbrook Road, west of State Line Road. Advertisement

Investigators said a firearm was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot.

Witnesses provided a description of the suspects and their vehicle. Officers shared that information with nearby agencies, and Olathe police soon spotted the vehicle.

A search later turned up the stolen gun, and both suspects were taken into custody.
