A man accused of the brutal murder of his landlord has been found guilty.

Jason Thomas King, 53, was found by a jury to have beaten 74-year-old Susan Walker to death on the evening of the October 20, 2022 at her Gold Coast home, where he rented a room.

The mother-of-five was found with 54 external injuries, including seven lacerations to the head and neck, and multiple broken ribs.

An autopsy also revealed Ms Walker had been strangled, possibly using an extension cord found near the body.
