SHREVEPORT, La. - A man accused of a violent domestic assault in Shreveport is being extradited to Shreveport after his arrest in Long Beach, Calif.

Kendrick Jones was taken into custody following a weeks-long investigation into a brutal attack that took place on July 6 in the 4200 block of Henry Street in Shreveport. Authorities allege that Jones severely beat a woman, striking her in the face with brass knuckles.

“It’s just so egregious to strike someone in the face, a lady in the face with brass knuckles,” said Terry McNaught with Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers. “We weren’t going to let it go.”

Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith also addressed the broader context of domestic violence in the community.
