One of the few teams with a winning record on the Patriots ’ schedule just lost a key piece.
Barring a much-quicker-than-expected return, the Buccaneers will be without Mike Evans when Tampa Bay hosts New England on Nov. 9.
Evans suffered both a broken clavicle and a concussion in the Bucs’ Monday night loss to the Lions. Coach Todd Bowles told ESPN, that the concussion would shelve Evans for a while.
“He’ll be out mostly toward the end of the year,” Bowles said of a potential timetable for Evans to return. “We’ll see what happens.”
It’s been a rough year for the former All-Pro, who returned Monday after being out since Week 3 with a hamstring injury. Chris Godwin is also out with a fibula injury and is listed as week-to-week.
The Buccaneers are in first place in the NFC South.
