Veteran actor Govardhan Asrani passed away on Diwali (October 20). He had been ill for some time. He is still remembered for his role as the jailer in Sholay. He entertained audiences with roles in films like Mere Apne, Bawarchi, Abhimaan, Chupke Chupke, Chhoti Si Baat, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Bunty Aur Babli 2, Welcome, and All the Best. Asrani leaves behind his wife Manju.
